Barroche Blanc
Our take on the white wine blend
This emblematic cuvée expresses the freedom we enjoy within the appellation and showcases an ancestral savoir-faire in blending grape varieties from unspoilt terroirs – a subtle reflection of the land and the passage of time.
Barroche Blanc embodies our pursuit of freshness, precision and elegance.
It is crafted from grapes grown on plots in the northern part of the appellation, where soils composed of fine marine sands (Miocene sands), iron-rich red clay and limestone bedrock lend the wine a remarkable balance of freshness, minerality and roundness – qualities worthy of the finest white wines.
BLEND
70% Clairette Blanche and Clairette Rose for finesse and aromatic freshness from “Pialons” and “Palestor” plots.
15% Roussane for complexity and roundness from “Palestor” plot.
15% Grenache Blanc for tastiness from “Palestor” plot.
A blend of the “Piedlong” terroir, defined by a dual limestone bedrock adding an iodized, almost salty touch and the Northern slopes of “Palestor”, marked by a chalky subsoil lending mouth-watering tension and lovely volume.
Viticulture
Terroirs left fallow for 7 years, traditional massal selection with Lilian Berrillon’s vine nursery, planting of rootstocks then grafting of vines according to the ancient technique 8 years later.
High-precision viticulture that respects biodiversity. Bio Certipaq FRBio 09 certification.
Each action is designed to enhance all living things.
WINE-MAKING & AGEING
Gravity-flow underground winery for gentle handling.
Slow and gentle fermentation and ageing for 12 months on fine lees in demi-muid barrels for both Clairette and concrete eggs for Roussanne and Grenache Blanc.
First vintage of this cuvée: 2024 (bottled on 2 September 2025).
Tasting
This refreshing and elegant wine is Pape filled with the energy of the terroir of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
It displays a lovely yellow colour with silver highlights and an ethereal nose with yellow fruit notes reminiscent of Mirabelle plums and citron.
Swirling in the glass reveals notes of white flowers, acacia and honeysuckle while a touch of star anise adds aromatic freshness.
The palate is well-balanced, fresh and round, with a mineral and lively finish.
For optimal tasting, decant the wines at least 30 minutes beforehand and serve at 12°C / 54°F.

Our vineyard
You cannot make a great wine without a great terroir
A family-owned estate with fewer than 15 hectares of vines, Domaine La Barroche nevertheless features a variety of terroirs in the northern and north-eastern part of the appellation, reflecting the best in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The variety of soils, diverse grape varieties, and hundred year old vines make Domaine la Barroche stand out.
